We trust all the Thunder Bay SERVE participants made it home safely. On behalf of the Thunder Bay Host Team I want to thank the participants for their hard work and wonderful attitude (both Small Group Leaders and SERVants)! You were willing to take on all the tasks at the different work sites. The work site recipients were amazed at what was accomplished and you were reflecting what is on the inside by the willing work you did. We know God is changing you to mirror Him both inside and outside. Share your experiences from this week with your friends, parents and siblings letting them know you serve and love an awesome God.

The SERVE GroupThe rising sun was greeted by a crystal blue sky this morning, as our SERVE guests leave for their long journey home. Please pray for everyone’s safe arrival back home to their families. For all of you visiting this web site, thank you for your participation in following the daily activities. Our statistics report indicates some 400 to 500 daily visits during SERVE week, and we received many, many messages for delivery to individual mail boxes. The pictures you’ve seen so far, in the daily slide-shows, are a sampling of the many more that were taken. In the next week or so, we will be compiling all of the images that were collected, and making them available on a DVD data disc, to the church groups that were represented here. These pictures will be the original full resolution snap shots, suitable for those wishing to make some prints. More random shots will also be posted to this site for your viewing pleasure.

The final day of SERVE 2009 will be the warmest of the week, as Thunder Bay continues it’s extended dry spell. We’re sure the SERVers working at the Habitat for Humanity project today, won’t mind all that sunshine. Final pictures will be posted later this evening and Saturday morning. Our message centre will be shut down at around 6:00 pm today. If you have any last minute emails to send in, please do so before that time.

Painful Injury

Thursday evening while joining in some basketball activity, our evening praise and worship leader, Troy Kooima snapped an Achilles tendon. He flew out this morning, and is back home awaiting corrective surgery. Please pray for Troy, that this operation can happen soon, and that he may be fully restored from this injury. Also pray for his family still in Thunder Bay, that they may have a safe road trip home on Saturday.
